Discovering "Discovery Playground"

Spokane Valley is throwing down the playground gauntlet! "Discovery Playground" just opened at Mirabeau Point in Spokane Valley, so this really is a NEW thing for "New Thing Weekend". It's unlike any other playground we've seen before, and the Post girls LOVE IT. We spent two solid hours frolicking at the park on a cool, breezy Sunday. The theme of this one-of-a-kind playground is "Exploring Eastern Washington". There are rolling hills to run through like you're on the Palouse, a giant rainbow trout to ride, rock climbing walls, and an "Eagles Nest Observatory."

Sophie and Gabby were most excited about a round spinny thing (Barf-o-rama?).

Dani LOVED the "Glacier Rock Slide":

I'm a sucker for a trampoline. This looked like fun.

BONUS: the park is RIGHT across from the YMCA, so Jerry can work out while I play with the girls, and then we can switch. There are also cool places to run in the park. BUMMER: No DOGS allowed. Good thing Hammy was sleepy. He snoozed outside the playground fence. Oh, and there's also a splash pad for when the weather warms up. We'll be back!
